Hello! Bonjour! Ni Hao! Annyeonghaseyo! Kia Ora! Etc... Etc...

It's been awhile hasn't it? I'm not sure how many of you still read my journal or, even in fact, how many of you still use/read LiveJournal. It's only recently that I've waned to start writing in this again. I've come to the recent conclusion that I've been so busy that I actually want to take a few minutes out of every day and actually just write down what I've done, what I've felt and what is going on. Because I've been busy but I can't remember exactly what I've been doing, so when someone asks me I shrug, because I genuinely can't remember what I've done.

So this year, as well as working full time, I am also studying part time to become a registered Dispensing Optician. It's been crazy and full on but I have been enjoying it. My boss who is also my mentor and supervisor (and the one paying for it all!) is liking me to a sponge. He will tell me something and a couple of days later he'll hear me relaying it to a customer and he just gets blown away by how much I take it in. There are some moments though where he explains things two or three times and I just don't get it. Until that is, I explain it back to him then everything clicks in place and it just works.

I also didn't give up on the 100 days of happiness... well not straight away. I got to Day 50 before I felt that I wasn't giving it all. I took a week off and now I'm doing it again. I'm up to day 3 again and fingers crossed this time, I won't use pictures of my bed too often!!

A couple of weeks ago I hurt my back while taking a small run, cue the fact that I finally decided it was time for me to see someone about my constant back pain. As I mentioned to the chiropractor it was getting worse. While I hadn't been able to do some stuff before; now I wasn't able to make my bed without taking breaks and forget hanging washing out in a timely manner, it took me twice as long. He did some exercises with me and I saw him for a few appointments but it wasn't getting any better. He's asked me to get an X Ray as he believes that I might have degenerative disc disease/disorder thing in my lower lumber and that can be causing all my problems. It was about then that I also decided that maybe health insurance wouldn't be a bad idea and I did the whammy, contents, heath and life. Now I'm not sure but I've started to think those are grown up things so I've decided that I may in fact be starting to grow up.

It's a scary thought but we knew it was going to happen eventually...

The goal. Take 100 photos showing something that makes you happy...

http://100happydays.com/

71% of people start it, but never finish it, citing that they are too busy, or that they don't have anything in their lives that make them happy.

This is the challenge. I'm trying it.

Day 1. Things that make me happy. A good book. I'll forever be a book worm. This book isn't the greatest I've read, but it's good and a great break from study materials and the book I've just finished (The Slave Across the Street by Theresa Flores).

Day #1 is complete.

I am soooooo mad right now. Because this is the only place I can vent, you guys are going to cop it.

About 2 and a bit months ago we were given notice that we had three months to vacate the property we were renting. No big deal, we started the property hunt. It's hard in Christchurch at the moment, there are very few properties around that would be suitable and even less around that would take an animal. But we eventually found somewhere, more or less in the 11th hour because we had five weeks to go and one of those was Christmas week.

Cue to a couple of weeks later and we are moving out. We've handed the keys back, cleaned the property and moved out. We got the first abusive message on facebook a week ago stating that we hadn't cleaned the property. I went back in a couple of days later and cleaned everything... again. We also got the carpets shampooed and scrubed the oven yet again. I advised him that I couldn't get someone in to do the gardens until the following week due to Christmas and he said his friend would do it if I paid the same amount. So that's what I did.

Cue today. I get a message from my cousin telling me to check out his facebook page. He has ranted and raved again. Stating that he only wanted us to move out due to repairs being done to the house. That's the first mistake he made, when he served us the eviction notice (via email) he told us it was because he was selling the property. He has stated that we did no cleaning, left the place filthy and the gardens over run. His friend had so far spent about six hours on the property and was going to spend many more on it cleaning. He said all this on facebook and abused us. He hasn't mentioned names but a lot of people know it's us. He's apparently going to send us a bill for the time now. He has changed his story several times as well about what's happening with the property.

We are now in a much better environment and I'm happy we have moved. What I'm not happy about is the way he is treating us now and how we are going to be perceived on facebook. I know there is nothing more that we can do about it, it's in the past but it's just pissing me off.

End of venting... I hope.

There are some days that are great. There are some days that are complete crap. You just have to learn to outweigh the bad with the good. But lately, it's been getting harder and harder.

My depression has come back and while I'm meant to be taking the medication, to help me sleep and just relax, I'm finding myself not wanting to. I'm not wanting to get back on the cycle that I fought so hard to get off. I don't feel like "me" anymore. But then again, I don't know who me is. 2013 was meant to be a great year but I find myself nearing the end of it and I can't think of one thing that has happened that has made me go "wow".

Yes, work has been great. I got promoted to Assistant Manager. I've made some great new friends, spent time with existing friends and rekindled friendships with people from aeons ago, but I don't feel like I've changed.

I've made some relatively adult choices - I got life insurance and at the moment that's about all I feel like I've done. I've done nothing particularly noteworthy. Haven't done more of what I've wanted to do and I definitely haven't jumped out of that plane yet. The year doesn't have much left in it. Someone told me today that it's only 75 days till Christmas. Which by my calculations means that it's only about 83 days left until 2014.

I'm going to have to make some serious decisions about what I want to happen next year and I'm going to have to bite the scared bullet and just go for it.

I'm going to need reminders to do it, reminders that people are there for me no matter what, but most of all I'm going to have to remind myself that I'm strong enough to do it.

Let's see how that goes shall we?

Here is number 5.

Photographic evidence of the greatest Bromance alive. If you guys haven't seen The Almighty Johnsons yet, you are missing out. Go watch it. I'll wait.

Great, I took this at the Wellington Armageddon event where they had the cast of the Hobbit coming to talk to us. Greatest panel ever :)

Under here, Aidan Turner & Dean O'GormanCollapse )

Ta-ta!

Next weeks will be one of the photos from my upcoming friends wedding. I'm nervous as hell but she wants someone who has known her 20 years to take her photos... enter me :)

Snapshot Sunday 004.

This is a bittersweet photo as it was one of the last ones taken of my dear Sakura who passed away on May 6th of this year. She wanted to come out with me and Hayley when we were off somewhere. She jumped into Hayley's bag and we didn't realise until Hayley lifted the bag up.

No alterations or resizing except by Photobucket.

Dear sweet SakiCollapse )

No change on the layout yet, haven't found one I like.

Hugs

I think it's time for a change. My layout, the images, I think it needs a revamp. I'm going to be using this more and I think I need to update it a smidgen. I also think it's time to sort out my Icons... update them, delete some and change some! I really wish there were caps out there from Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing - that movie was brilliant!!

Also, good news for NaNoWriMo this year - I'm one of the Municipal Liaisons for the Christchurch region! Can't wait!!

Hope you all are having a good day. For those that don't know, New Zealand has been struck by some pretty decent earthquakes again, but I'm nowhere near the region. We sometimes feel some of the jolts but I haven't felt anything in absolutely ages...

Hugs and love to you all

I'm finally going through all my photos I took when I was last in Wellington. When I visited The Weta Cave and did some other cool stuff.

I like seagulls. They make great photographic subjects. That's basically all there is to this one.

See you all next Sunday =)

Here are some more cards that I've made. I haven't had much of a chance to craft this week because I've been so tired this last week.

These aren't full cards, they are for demonstration purposes only for when, or if, I finally get to do some Stampin' Up workshops =)

Here be two cardsCollapse )
